British Man Russ Cook Completes 10,000 Mile Run Across Africa

From South Africa to Tunisia, "Hardest Geezer" Finishes Epic Marathon

Russ Cook, known as the "Hardest Geezer," has completed an incredible 10,000-mile run across 16 African countries in less than 365 days.

Setting out from the southern tip of South Africa on April 22, 2023, Cook ran through challenging terrain, including deserts, mountains, and rainforests. He covered an impressive 9,000 miles and added a few thousand extra due to a modified route.

Cook's mammoth journey was dubbed "Project Africa," and he invited others to join him on the final day of his run. Leaving the Shell gas station in Ghezala, Tunisia, on Sunday, April 7, Cook ran until reaching the Mediterranean Sea.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain, Cook commented on his achievement: "It's an amazing feeling to have finally completed this run. It's been an incredible journey, both physically and mentally."

Cook's epic odyssey came to an end in Cape Angela, Tunisia, after 352 days of running. He chose the West African route for its unique challenges and to raise awareness for various charities.

On April 22, 2023, Cook embarked on his monumental challenge, having spent years planning and preparing. He covered an impressive 506km on the first day alone.

British runner Russ Cook celebrated with supporters at the finish line, marking the culmination of his extraordinary journey. Cook's nickname, "Hardest Geezer," is a testament to his unwavering determination and endurance.
