John Aprea, an actor whose career spanned several decades and included roles in 'The Godfather Part II' and 'Full House,' passed away on Monday at the age of 83 due to natural causes.

Aprea's extensive television career included notable roles in 'Another World' and 'Full House,' solidifying his status as a beloved character actor.

Aprea was born in New York City in 1938 and began his acting career in the early 1960s with appearances in off-Broadway productions. His breakout role came in 'The Godfather Part II' (1974), where he played the character of Tevere, a close associate of Michael Corleone.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Aprea made guest appearances in numerous popular television series, including 'Alfred Hitchcock Presents,' 'The Rockford Files,' and 'Hill Street Blues.' He also had a recurring role as Dr. Carlo Torello on the soap opera 'Another World' from 1981 to 1983.

In 1987, Aprea joined the cast of 'Full House' as Joey Gladstone's father, Albert. His portrayal of the lovable and eccentric patriarch brought him widespread recognition and endeared him to audiences.

Aprea continued to act throughout his later years, with recent appearances in 'Blue Bloods' and 'The Good Wife.' He is survived by his third wife, Betsy, to whom he was married for 25 years.
